The Bats of Destruction was a magical weapon created by Lena LaMarelle. They were initially many baseball bats enchanted to attack a named object on voice command, but then Lena branched out into swords and axes of destruction, too.

Appearance[]

The Bats of Destruction can vary quite a lot in their appearances. They were first described as wood, and appear as so on the cover of OSAS. Later in OSAS, they were described to have some metal, some wood, some '...so old that all the lettering had been rubbed off, ones so new they were still on their plastic wrappers, and one particularly scary one with nails driven into it.'

The axes and swords were not particularly described, so it is assumed that they are just generic axes and swords, respectively.

History[]

Lena introduced the bats for the first time in the battle against the wolves in Golden Gate Park in OSAS. This was when she field tested them.

They are again used by Lena in a battle against wolves in the Arctic, not long before Rory killed Mark. It was later mentioned that they were crucial in winning the battle.

The bats are used again in OSAS, but this time against Lena by General Genevive Searcaster. The attempt backfired, and many villains were left with metal shrapnel in their skin due to the bats exploding. They hit Jimmy Searcaster particularly badly, peppering his arms with small scars. This made Lena want to ditch the Bats of Destruction, but she didn't until OEAE.

They are mentioned by Lena and Mildred Grubb, The Director in OEAE during a Canon meeting, in which Lena was a student representative. Lena tried to get around making more Bats of Destruction but failed.

The Axes and Swords of Destruction were attempted to be used by Adelaide, but Adelaide failed, due to Lena's voice recognition software. Lena then used the Axes and Swords to cut away the vines around the tower where Chase got his 'Sleeping Beauty' Tale, while they were rescuing him.

The Axes of Destruction again got took over by General Searcaster, cutting off Lena's hands and almost killing her. However, Rapunzel gave her her golden apple, which saved her life and regrew her hands, but it killed Rapunzel and made Lena a member of the Canon. Lena then stopped making them.

Trivia[]

The spell was a classic spell from the tale 'The Donkey, The Table, and The Stick.' It is the stick portion.

Chase was shown to quite like the idea of the Bats of Destruction.
